Monsoon storms expected next week

The return of the summer Monsoon season is expected to come in the next week.  Silverton can get a lot of rain in a short time during these afternoon downpours.  If you plan on traveling in the backcountry or over our mountain passes please be prepared for heavy rains.   On the upside, be on the lookout for some amazing rainbows and remember that the rains are what keep our waterfalls flowing and the fire risk low.
