The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is starting its summer routs on May 7th!
The D&SNGR offers daily, round-trip service from Durango, Co to Silverton, Co From May through October on its famous vintage, 1900 steam engine, narrow gauge railroad. This is one of the premier rail adventures in America with some of the most incredible scenery you’ll find anywhere in the Rocky Mountains.
The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is three and a half hours each way with a two hour layover in Silverton to allow you to enjoy a fantastic lunch at the Golden Block Brewery and still have time to check out some of our local shops. If you’d like to cut off some of that time you can also opt to take a bus on one of the legs of the journey and shaving a few hours off what would otherwise be a 9 hour round trip.
Some highlights from the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad include the famous canyon that Butch Cassidy jumped into to evade arrest in the famous movie bearing his name to the famous canyons where the track seems to hang from the wall of a sheer cliff overlooking the river below and towering mountains above.
The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad also offers several options for seating ranging from Coach and Deluxe, all the way up to the presidential class which comes with its own vintage car which will make you feel like a genuine robber barron from the Wild West.
